Buffalo Pediatric Associates, LLP is a single specialty, multi-physician practice with two locations in the Buffalo, NY area. We see children and adolescents from birth until 22 years of age. Our integrated practice team includes physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. We see patients with a wide variety of medical needs with a focus on preventative care and behavioral health.

Healthy Steps Specialist

We are hiring a full-time Healthy Steps Specialist to work along with and in support of the pediatricians and Advanced Practitioner Providers (APPs).

Healthy Steps, a national evidence-based model, targets children 0-5 years, promotes nurturing caregiving, which supports families and improves healthy development and well-being of babies and toddlers, preparing them for school and life. This Healthy Steps Specialist brings focus to the important skills needed for families to foster healthy child development and life-long well-being: social emotional development; language and literacy skills; cognition skills; and perceptual, motor, and physical development.

The Healthy Steps Specialist is an early child development expert who will join our Practice Team to provide behavioral health interventions, parenting support, child development information and referrals, and follow-up for families with children birth to age 5. The Healthy Steps Specialist builds strong relationships with families and providers to increase the efficiency of the medical system and support team-based comprehensive care.

Master’s degree in social work, psychology, or counseling or related field highly preferred. Preference given to a NY state licensed social worker (LMSW).

Behavioral Health Care Manager (BHCM)

Buffalo Pediatric Associates, LLP is hiring a Behavioral Health Care Manager (BHCM) to support the Collaborative Care Model, an evidence-based, nationally recognized team-based approach for treating depression and anxiety in primary care. The BHCM coordinates the group and ensures effective communication among primary care providers and the consulting psychiatric specialist in the delivery of treatment. The BHCM participates in diagnosis and treatment planning, supports medication management, provides proactive follow-up of treatment response, and alerts team members when the patient is not improving. The BHCM provides education, supports the development of coping skills, and offers brief counseling using motivational interviewing, behavioral activation, problem-solving treatment, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. LCSW, LMSW, LMSW Candidate, LMHC, or RN with psychiatric background are encouraged to apply.
