Our pediatricians will collaborate with a specialty provider and make an appropriate referral if your child needs care beyond the Pediatrician’s expertise. Please contact us prior to seeing a Specialty Provider. Always call us first before going to urgent care or ER unless the situation is life-threatening.

Meet Our Pediatricians
At Buffalo Pediatric Associates, our team of pediatricians have a wide range of subspecialty fellowship training and expertise from a variety of top academic medical centers and are dedicated to providing their patients with the highest quality of care.
Pam (Jack) London, MD, FAAP
Dr. London is a graduate of Bryn Mawr College and The Medical College of Pennsylvania. They are board-certified in Pediatrics and are a Fellow of The American Academy of Pediatrics. Their professional interests include Sports Medicine, Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics, and Epidemiology. Their hobbies include Ironman Triathlons, running marathons, photography, reading, playing with their dog, and spending time with family and friends.
Rachel B. Kaufman, MD, FAAP
Dr. Kaufman is a board-certified pediatrician and native of Buffalo who received her undergraduate degree at Swarthmore College and her medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. After postgraduate training at the University of Rochester Golisano Children’s Hospital, she returned to her home town to practice pediatrics. Dr. Kaufman has a particular interest in pediatric psychiatry and adolescent medicine.
Dr. Kaufman lives in Snyder with her adorable rescue dog. Her interests include knitting, hiking, reading, and home canning.
Eric Beyer, MD, FAAP
Dr. Beyer is a board-certified pediatrician and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He earned his undergraduate degree at Cornell University and graduated from the Emory University School of Medicine. He received his postgraduate training at the Arnold Palmer Hospital for Women and Children in Orlando, Florida and was most recently in practice in Canandaigua, New York. His professional interests include pediatric oral health, newborn nutrition, and clinical informatics. He enjoys bike riding, reading, spending time with friends, family and cat.
Robert E. Kaplan, MD, FAAP
Dr. Kaplan grew up on Long Island and received his undergraduate degree from Brown University.
He received his medical training at the University at Buffalo School of Medicine where he is an Associate Clinical Professor of Pediatrics. Dr. Kaplan is a Board Certified Pediatrician. His professional interests include determining optimal pediatric care, teaching and child neurology. Dr. Kaplan and his wife, Jean, live in the City of Buffalo. They have two adult daughters: Anna and Leah. They have over 20 nieces and nephews and half a dozen great nieces and nephews. They greatly enjoy their wonderfully large extended family. Dr. Kaplan enjoys jazz, politics, and reading.
Dr. Kaplan is a recipient of the Robert S. Berkson, M.D. Memorial Award. “This annual award recognizes outstanding performance in the art of medicine, as a volunteer member of the UB faculty, for excellence in patient care and teaching.”
Dr Kaplan states, “One is very fortunate to have a meaningful passion in life. For me it is my family and pediatrics.”
Susan M. Trzaska, CPNP
Susan Trzaska joined Buffalo Pediatric Associates in 1995. She received her undergraduate degrees from Trocaire College and SUNY at Buffalo, and her Masters Degree of Science from SUNY at Buffalo. Susan is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner through the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners. She is also a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, as well as the WNY Chapter. Susan is married and has a son. Her personal interests include spending time with family, enjoying the great outdoors such as hiking, swimming, snow shoeing, walks with the family dog and reading.
James H. Raber, MSN, FNP-BC
After serving 4 years in the United State Navy as a Hospital Corpsman and a Pilot Rescue Swimmer, Jim moved from San Jose California in 1996 to attend Niagara University where he obtained his Masters in Nursing and Family Nurse Practitioner Degree.
Jim has 13 years of experience in Pediatrics and specializes in General Pediatrics and the management of ADHD.
On his time off he enjoys motorcycle riding and spending time with his two kids. He also has become a big Buffalo sports fan. He enjoys skiing, camping, kayaking, hiking. During football season you will find him at all the Buffalo Bills’ home games.
Amanda Barnhard, PA-C
Amanda Barnhard is a graduate of the Daemen College Physician Assistant program. She is a certified PA and member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In her free time, Amanda enjoys gardening, biking, playing the violin, cheering on the Buffalo Bills and spending time with her husband, their cat and 2 dogs.
Kate Mendez, MSN, FNP-BC, CLC
Kate Mendez is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who is excited to join the team at Buffalo Pediatrics. She obtained her undergraduate degrees from Hobart and a William Smith Colleges and Binghamton University, and her Masters of Science and Family Nurse Practitioner degree from D’Youville College. She is a Certified Lactation Consultant (CLC) and member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners.
Born and raised in Buffalo, she is a die-hard Buffalo Bills fan. A former NCAA collegiate swimmer, in her spare time she continues to enjoy swimming, along with cycling, hiking, and spending time with her husband, two dogs, and two cats.
